I've inherited a downed ESXI host machine and started to work on it. This is a custom built server and after a brief look into it I realized that I need to update pretty much all of the firmware on the MB and SAS card.I've completed the MB update, which was easy as pie but the SA card I've never done before. I am attempting to update the card to its newest IR firmware.

My mistake, as well as researched the ESXI installtion issue which it could be a compatibility issue with ESXI and the RAID card versioning. As I was doing this the 4 - 3 TB drives were displaying as 2024 GB drives too. In the RAID configuration.3.
So I figured that perhaps the bios is old and don't recognize the drives as 3 TB, and that ESXi needed newer bios on the card in order to be compatible.So I went ahead and updated the BIOS on the Motherboard and want to do the same on the SAS card before doing the installation. So I would like to update the SAS card first before going forward with the installation. Lsi 9207 P20 Error Form
The controller has 2 SFF-8087 connectors, each carrying 4 SAS lanes. You will need a compatible cable to connect these to your hard drives or a backplane. These cards are fully tested in my Supermicro server running ZFS on Linux (ZoL), but this setup is also ideal for other ZFS setups, FreeNAS, unRAID, Proxmox VE, etc. I have fully tested them using all 8 SAS lanes.
