There is something I've wanted to say about why I think Mu cannot ever be taken seriously. To 'start'1.) RealmsYou have 4 different Realms for a community base small enough to fit into one, let alone 4. All you're doing is causing people with 3 old crap computers in the closet to make duplicate accounts for each realm, meaning; no unique playerbase, just accounts.

So, im a bit stuck at skill tree for my pvp sm, and would like to see opinion on what i did wrong/ good, and where should i put rest of points. One thing I've noticed is some things drop from A2 and K2 so then there is figuring out what the monster level is? Item drops from monster lvl 3057 for example. How often you've been finding these items so if it is dropping a lot it would be a 'common' item since the exact drop rate numbers are impossible to get at this point in time. Dec 8, 2004 - Mu Online FAQ By Ness(Gonzalo Fuentes) Version Nコ1.2 Index of contents: 1. 3.2 Controls 3.3 The good and the bad. At the beginning it seems that your only have to kill monsters but you end up making new friends. If not, the actual Stadium GM: Guild Master or Game Master(Character with almost.

You MUST allow us to transfer characters to other realms at the VERY least!Solution: Create one massive realm and combine all of your players. Or at least let us transfer realms at ease.2.) The 'MuHelper'.Sigh. Where do I start. The MuHelper doesn't help.

It plays the damn game for you. How can you expect anyone who takes gaming seriously to play a game where any John can just hop on an Windows 98 fire up Mu and run the game with the bot until it blows up, throw in a few $ for perks and BOOM, you have a level 700 and NO idea what you're doing. You can't honestly expect this game to go anywhere while the MuHelper is still implemented, it's a lazy way of fighting bots. Go talk with Jagex, they can tell you all about the struggle to succeed through botters, and maybe a few hints on how to actual maintain your game. You're basically giving everyone a tool to cheat, what's next, a bot that produces maxed items? Oh yea, we already have that. It's the Mu Store.Solution: Put a max amount of time the Helper can play at idle before the player has to engage to re-activate.3.) Mu StoreI understand budget and the fact that you're a business that needs to make money to succeed WebZen, but WOW!

Do you really have to basically offer virtually ANYTHING for cash? How can this game have any novelty items if John and Sam can just open their wallets and have enough jewels for it in no time?

You're thinking SHORT-TERM here! If you actually put some effort into this game rather than selling your souls for cash, in the long-term it could make you rich. Just ask Andrew Gower.I understand you need to make money, but when you think about it, with all the perks from in-store and P2P, training in F2P is virtually useless. I could understand maybe a 20-30% exp boost MAX.

But like 300-400% or whatever the max is now, that's INSANE! The comparison from training without any perks from the store and with is on completely different scales, you make it pointless to ever think about training unless you purchase some perks, why would you train for a week for something someone can get in 2 hours spending some money in the MuStore. You guys are too money hungry and not thinking logically about the future of your game.Solution: Stop selling maxed items, if someone wins an item, it should be +0, as for buying them from the NPC. Leave it to the horrible Chaos Machine to decide if they get the item upped to +15. You're making it worthless for someone to try and ever take the horrible odds of making an item to +15 when they can be simply bought from the Mu Store.4.) Advertising/MarketingMuOnline is a dead game, we all know that. But it has tremendous potential if you'd just open your eyes and put in a little effort!

Advertise the game, look into graphical updates and new maps. Stop taking shortcuts, this game is legendary but currently a steaming pile of. because of many obvious reasons. You have to SPEND a little money, to MAKE a lot of money.Solution: Use Google Ads, or something! Just spend a little money on getting the game out there.5.) EXP events / PerksYou think to save the game you should make it into a private server.

Well guess what, there is a reason most private servers didn't last what so ever and couldn't hardly hold a community for the most part, is because it was a temporary environment, level fast, get the best items fast, then get over the game FAST. I actually enjoyed back in Wigle when I had to battle my way through the maps, it was exciting unlocking new skills and spells. It took alot of work to reach even level 100. Now it's done within hours, it's pathetic. You can't enjoy a game you speed up to fast no one is able to enjoy it as it goes. Levels mean nothing compared to when I started, we actually respected high levels for the efforts they've put into MuOnline.

We announced level 400 a on the main page it was that rare. Now what's left to respect or value in a level progressed by the MU helper while you actively played a better game? Or an item you paid a few bucks on chaos cards for, there is no value or novelty in that, you're dulling down your own game!Solution: A fair EXP boost cap.6.) BUGS and server stabilityMuOnline has been the most unstable and buggy game I've ever experienced. Small things like spelling mistakes and over lapping menus, horribly annoying chat filters that don't allow for proper English grammar like the use of ' ' '.

I mean come-on! Do you even play your own games? That's such an unprofessional and sloppy way of running a gaming business.Well, glad to get that all off my chest. Hope some of you reading can relate and express your reasons in this thread.

I would love to see Mu in the right hands again, and we all voted for WebZen back while K2 was around, now I'm not to sure.Solution: Spend some time figuring out all the bugs that are being reported in-game and on-forum, and hire some coders to fix them.7.) Combat triangleI'm going to keep this one short and sweet, the combat triangle in Mu is completely off. Level 200's buffed can destroy a level 400+, and from class to class there is hardly any equality among characters. It's sloppy and needs to be revised badly.Solution: Add a bonus perk for being a higher level than the player you are in PVP with. (Depending on that gap)8.) The MarketWebZen GM's, I'd like to make a bet with you. Go find me 960 Bless and let me know how long it takes you. Then ask yourself, how ridiculous it is that we trade with so many jewels that people have to use max rings, come on. This is just foolish.

The currency needs to be corrected. Remove the duped gems and ban the stupid jewel selling website advertisers in-game.Solution: Bring back reasonable jewel prices and keep in mind the time it takes to gather jewels. Remove duped jewels and look into accounts with large quantity and flag their next few trades.9.) Customer SupportWebZen, you have one of the most unorganized and unqualified Game Masters yet, either that or you aren't laying enough funds in the budget to actually develop a real support system that works. You have a few of the only players left begging for support on a daily basis on the forums, open your eyes and see that once you host a MMORPG, you have to expect players needing your help on a large scale, not support for 1-2 players of Mu a day, people go weeks, even MONTHS waiting for your help. Buck up!Also, blocking peoples accounts in error?!? This is insane, and you wonder why the Mu community is so outraged?

How can you block someones account who has probably paid you hundreds of dollars in error and not swiftly respond to their ticket to find a resolution to the problem? Come on.Solution: Hire more customer support agents that actually know what their doing and have experience with customer relations and solutions. Hold board meetings and discuss what you can do to improve Mu online for everybody, keep in mind how happy and populated these servers once were back in the Wigle days. Bring that back.-For the record, I love MuOnline and it's been a game I've enjoyed for about 10 years now. The reason I have so much to say regarding issues is that a lot of them have been here for so many years it's very frustrating. I know there are good Mu GM's out there, but not enough, and the funding for this game needs to start being spent on the betterment of the game, not the investors driveway souvenirs.-. FROM MU REBIRTH - I THOUGHT THIS WAS RELEVANT.

MU Rebirth closing:It was obvious to me that this was going to happen, that's why I stopped playing. I also quit the VL team a few months ago because the decisions made by the GMs are totally illogical. This game could have been very good source of income for Webzen if the management was better.I'll list some of the reasons where they went wrong:. GMs don't know much about MU (and thus they make poor decisions for the game). GMs are just incompetent and inexperienced overall. This was also seen in the Skype conversations that I have had. Useless/overpriced webshop items (Is this a joke?

Mu Online Guide

Completely useless item in MUR ). No advertising (therefore missing out on tens of thousands of new players). It's cheap to pay for advertising on private server listing sites and MU Rebirth, being an official server, could have easily attract a large player base if it was advertised and managed properly. Overpowered socket items in the shop which broke PvP for every single class except Summoner and BK (and even for Summoner and BK it was still quite lame).

Monster Bad Gm Mu OnlineOnline

I told the GMs repeatedly how this would destroy PvP in the game but they didn't seem to understand. Lag when killing monsters. Skills not hitting all monsters properly. Imbalanced PvP. retarded Seasonal Competition System, and rewards given in MU Online and not MU Rebirth. The initial idea to delete all data every 3 months (WTF?!). Lack of communication with GMs, no support on forum.

Very poor predictions by GMs. They sort of expect everyone to play MU Rebirth and participate in their events without much logical backing or effort at all. For example, in the first PvP tournament they were looking for a total of 64 teams (16 in each region) but in the end there were only two teams that signed up (after the VL's urged some friends to participate).

I am consistently ASTOUNDED by their poor logic. Poor site maintenance, the CS/Gens ranking never worked and the Castle Siege time was listed on the site incorrectly. The weekly site maintenance always occurred during the first half of the Castle Siege event, and if the maintenance was extended then no one could participate in the event. Seeming lack of empathy for players.

Lots of other reasonsBye bye all, I'll stick with private servers. It was fun PKing, thanks to everyone that made the experience enjoyable. My IGN was Noob for those who don't know. This game is now PayToWin so it fails when ppl that plays for 1mounth and find then selves in level 80 and then some1 buys a lot of 'itens' and gets level 400 in 16hours. This is too bad. And its too old so smart ppl dont play it.

You will never find some1 talking to each other, and do you know why? Because who is in PT now has 25accs and own a entire map in all spots. And how about this new update? Ppl cant at least join chaos castle? They are insane. CC is the heart of MU for new ppl.

Could not they fix at least it? GL trying play. I don't know what old day you are talking about.but there has always been bots in the game.there was a minimizer also.i will agree that a lot of the other points a 100% valid. There was a minimizer, yes. Which could allow the player to enjoy full-screen but at the same time run programs in the back ground, or even an auto-clicker. Nothing compared to the 100% completely afk'able MuHelper we have today. It doesn't help players through the game, it plays it for them completely.

The only reason to even look at the screen now a days is to change your set or character, this game is full of empty computer chairs. Well probably u don't have a job and jerk off at ur home all day, but some of us work, trying, study, have girlfriend/wife ETC, we need mu helper if no mu helper mu would die. You miss the old dayS? Go back into the past, not only mu changes but life as well, on bugs u only mention is chat XD rofl i never heard someone complain so much about this, yep you level up fast in this game, but with no build or set you still nothing ^^, unless you rich, you can't do anything about it and if you rich you will not only be pro in mu but in a lot of other things in life too ^^^, if in the end you gonna transfer an account just create your characters in one realm ROFL i admit i have like 6 chars but all on the same realm. Not even a level 3 on other ^^, only think mu needs is lower prices, getting jewels sets being the most pro is still hard, what happens is that mu community has grown, pretty much all of us are old school, so we have money to spend now, and we can buy or sell some jewels with low problems.

The only reason to even look at the screen now a days is to change your set or character, this game is full of empty computer chairs.1)Not many people has the time to properly play a game, let alone with friends with different time frames around the world to properly coordinate. And you cant feel invested too much when there are other games to be played or experienced. Too many games of dubious quality (that you dont know yet) and so little time.

I am having flashbacks to the first Videogame Crash.2)The events (BC,DS,Gaion,Mirror, CC) are supposed to be completed and experienced by playing the game themselves rather than letting the bot do all of the work. Most of them will get you killed if you try to use the bot (except maybe DS) and there are things like the Chaos Goblin inside the Tormented Square and the golden monsters inside that are designed for you to hunt yourself before they escape.Of course, most people can ONLY enjoy these events when they are overleveled and over-equipped to the point that the rewards you get dont even begin to cover or compare to the sheer amount of money/jewels you wasted to get everything ready to BEGIN to have fun.

Its the Final Fantasy 13 game design: 'It gets good. much much much much later, but not now.'

Why cant it be good right now again?.still dubious3)If the game had a better drop system, one that rewards player interaction rather than mindless killing that even a bot can do, then the game will be much better and the rewards for doing stuff yourself will be much better. Maybe their other games had drop systems mentioned here, or maybe they dont have any and they should take notes.4)Its not too late for a complete overhaul.

World of Warcraft completely reworked the quests from top to botton when Wrath Of the Lich King came along, making them feel like an actual story rather than 'Bring me 20 Bear Asses'. Well probably u don't have a job and jerk off at ur home all day, but some of us work, trying, study, have girlfriend/wife ETC, we need mu helper if no mu helper mu would die. You miss the old dayS? Man if u have job, girl and no time, then stop playing ^^, ur talking with no time and still wanna plays is a totall bullshit here, u wanna plays mu like in ur old days, making lvls and others, while u have ur self life and have no time for this in normal?? STOP PLAYING THEN IF U CANT SPEND UR REAL TIME to PLAY THIS GAME and not afking cuz this game is now 90% GRAVEYARD afking Dead MU-OFFLINEbtw: they should change the bot, maybe short the time usage for like 1-2hours max of each turning on the bot, or change the exp gain while on the bot, like 50% of exp while Mu Helper ON. I would put point 6 to place 1.

Bugs and server stability should be a priority #1. Also, MU helper should IMHO be a part of the game. I see lots of reasons for that.

One of them being is that most of MU players were growing up with the game. Back then we had time.and lots of it. Today, we have families, jobs and very little time to play, but I personally would still like to be a part of this community in-game, not only on forum. Also from an economic point of view this would be a bad idea for Webzen. If you cancel MU Helper, you cancel the need for multiclient, which means players would focus on less characters, mostly on only one = less wcoins needed.

Monster Bad Gm Mu Online Speed

If players would stop playing because they have little time like you suggested Draconit, the game would be finnished. You can't play this alone you knowWebzen decided to implement MU helper and I welcome the decision. But the way it was implemented, to make your whole system unstable (keystroke lag for example) and game crashing randomly for no apperent reason is just wrong.

It's like this code was written by someone who just learned to code and did most of the work by googling for solutions. I would also accept (without any anger) a 50% drop in experience while using MU helper like Draconit proposed. But I should be able to be online where at this point I am not. Webzen can also check that right after my last post about DC issues I cancelled all payments to Webzen and that is how it Will remain until they fix Server issues and game stability! If that means indefinitely, i'll remain a free player, I have lots of stuff and don't need levels much.Lots of us have Jobs like I said and you don't need to answer this here but ask yourselves.

In your company you do something to earn money. You as an employee and a company as employer, both making money. Company grows with time as it makes profit.

It grows both in quality and also in amount of the profit earned. When you have high profit, you need to invest, you need to upgrade the systems that got you this far. Do you see that in MU? They are making good money especially since the Dubai residents started to get a lot more active. So why can't simple bugs be fixed? Don't you have enough profit to employ a capable programming team and an english speaking support?

I mean recruting VL's to do your job for free (free seals are not payment, they are bribes for junkies) but still they can't fix anything because they are just forum accounts without any authority except for redirecting and deleting posts? I see that some VL's are trying to help, but cannot pass the Webzen brick-wall.GM Jhon bought a Ferrari back in 2011, but the game has the same crap service as it always had. That Ferrari costed cca.

500k $ and it was payed by players. I like the idea of decreased EXP while using the Mu helper. But what I cannot agree with you on Alphadame is with the Mu Helper. Every game created has a goal, to reach that goal, you must earn it by doing things in-game, I have yet to find another game where I can just click a play button and it play's the game for me.

I've introduced Mu Online to no less than 10 gamers. They liked it for the first little while, then couldn't believe how boring and less interacting the game became, especially with the Mu helper. If you want to actively play Mu it can only be for so long, there is almost no one to talk to, no active parties or conversations anymore, the social aspect that held most old-school players here is now completely gone. There is nothing left here to do besides run the bot, mini-mize the game, and hope you don't disconnect.

There should be one new server with NO Mu helper, and the option to transfer your account PERMANENTLY to this new server.I'm sure I could brain-storm a few ideas, but WebZen has made it pretty clear they don't care to listen to what we have to say. Like when K2 first proposed that we buy a subscription or they'll delete any characters over the level of 100(or 150?). It's nonsense, I understand they need to make money, but when they do, they don't spend it on improving the game anyway. I wish WebZen would just sell MuOnline rights to another company who would look after it and it's community.

GThe graveyard this game has become is sad to see for someone who's played from the start.

After many many years playing all kind of MMORPGs i got tired of all of them, from the first mmo i ever played (Mu Online) to the last one (Guild Wars 2) and that's it.

MMOs nowadays don't have the same appeal to me and not much to offer and i'm tired of their infinite flaws. So i tried UO some time ago i really liked the freedom the game can offer. Tried some free shards but i didn't got too far, the game is old and it is not too newbie friendly so i got overwhelmed by the amount of information and things to do at first. I'm trying to give another chance but i find it hard to choose one free shard to start with, i'm thinking about UO:Forever and UO:Renaissance because of the population, but i have found this little shard called UOAlive, they keep updating and balacing the game and that kind of commitment caught my attention. What can you guys can tell me about these 3 shards, any tips?. Really depends on what your flavor isPre-AOS: UOForever is fine, but UO Renaissance is where most of my friends are currently playing and its pretty good. Also its high population just like UOFAOS: Pestilent Ultima No other shard comes anywhere close to how good this shard is for AOS. Very fun PVP-focused shard.ML+: Demise The best post AOS experience available, not loaded down with tons of Custom bs.CUSTOM/MULTI-ERA: UoEvolution or UO Shards gobs and gobs of Custom content if you're into that sort of thing.

Both seemed more geared toward Trammy centric players. It's not one of the shards you mentioned but I'd like to suggest UOSecondAge It's definitely a bit more on the difficult side due to there being more risk (pks, thieves, etc), however it's much simpler and there is less to take in.It's based around how UO was in the T2A era (first expansion for the game, back in 1999). It has a great community and people on the forums and IRC will gladly help give you tips and often handouts to new players. The absolute best part is it is one of the only shards that doesn't have a pay-to-win mechanic, GMs giving stuff to their friends, etc. The shard stays true to its core values. It's not for everyone. And I know it may be an era you're unfamiliar with, but it's by far the most rewarding.

They can't support multiple official servers with different eras. Each one would require its own committed dev team to provide updates/balances, I see a lot of people here and in WoW who think you can just add a vanilla server and everyone would be happy - but you can't. If new content isn't being developed/added, people are going to get bored fast and stop playing. So it wouldn't happen, they can't afford to hire a dev team for even a second era of servers, and even if they did eventually changes would get made that some of the population wasn't happy with and it would basically be deja vu all over again. I can tell you with total honesty.

After almost a day on UOAlive. That your server is very grindy (and i've plenty of OSI + skill gain modded servers to have a feel for how long skills take)very buggy (everyone having to log off repeatedly to fix issues)with a population of 20. And the generic addition of copy/paste modifications. I gotta say man. In no way could i even distinguish your server from an OSI server with a population of 20.and i certainly didnt understand what felt 'Alive' about it. I wasn't looking for anything to be handed to me either. Anyway hope this helps shed a long time players opinion on what kinda message your selling there.'

What happens on UOAlive, Stays on UOAlive' not sure who thought up that quote for your official shard website. But i see they've taken that down now.
